I wrote this poem about the best dog in the world. R.I.P.

Trying to forget,
I kept away regret,
I fought away the tears,
but they always were clear,

toward the end I gave up,
waited as you drove in that car,
death wasn't very far,
I wonder if you thought,
that you were just bad,
or if you were sad,
scared and afraid,

but now you are gone,
time was a bomb,
I went to sleep hoping,
thinking it just a dream,
that maybe beyond the seams of life and death,
another chance was left,
but alas there was not,

and the last words I said,
I love you, goodnight,
I promise I'll visit tommorow,
but instead there was just sorrow,
endless and much pain,

and so I go on,
thinking, knowing,
nothing will ever be the same.
